Joshua Zaporzan Biography
Joshua is the Owner & President of Audax Ventures, a corporation that owns & operates multiple businesses, including a marketing and business development agency, an apparel company, a promotions company and a start-up in the clean technology & renewable energy industry.
Joshua is a graduate of the University of Manitoba's, Asper School of Business, where he completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) Degree with a major in Entrepreneurship.
Day to day, Joshua currently works at the University of Manitoba's, Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship as the Strategic Partnership and Venture Support Lead. Through this experience, as well as his previous role as the Manitoba Market Manager for the League of Innovators, Joshua has worked with entrepreneurs across Canada in multiple industries, helping them to start, grow and scale their businesses. This work has included coaching entrepreneurs to build business plans, marketing strategies, industry analysis, feasibility studies, operational efficiencies, financial modelling, capital structuring, capital raising and strategic growth. Joshua is passionate about sharing his experience with entrepreneurs, helping to build their ventures.
Joshua began his pursuit of entrepreneurship in 2012 when he launched a digital marketing and business development agency. As a trusted advisor, Joshua provided his clients with strategies to grow and maintain an effective online presence through the use of multiple digital platforms. Joshua’s marketing focus naturally evolved into working more with business owners and early stage entrepreneurs as a business development coach, under the Audax Ventures brand.
Joshua's biggest accomplishment to date has been the growth and acquisition of Longball Athletics, a Canadian golf & lifestyle apparel company with distribution throughout North America. Joshua was the majority Owner and CEO, managing the day to day operations and growth of the company. In the Spring of 2020, an opportunity arose to sell the majority control of the company when interest was expressed from a 3rd party. Joshua led the conversations, negotiation and structure of the sale while keeping the company active and producing revenue. As part of the acquisition terms, Joshua remains a board member and minor shareholder of the company and assists with overseeing the high-level strategic direction of the company and recommendations for future growth.
In addition to his experience with Longball Athletics, and his marketing and business development agency, Joshua has owned and operated a seasonal restaurant and is currently building his newest venture, H2MB, a startup in the clean technology and renewable energy industry.
Joshua is actively involved in his community and recognizes the need to give back whenever possible. He is the Vice Chair & board member of the Young Associates and a speaker to various groups of community leaders, high school, university and MBA students. Joshua has participated as a judge in various business plan and pitch competitions across Canada.
When the opportunity arises for some down time, Joshua will most likely be found travelling, on the golf course or at his family cottage enjoying the outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
